Camp 2009

August 29th, 2009

We had a great week at Camp Andrews. It was intense and stretching but we could feel the power of the Spirit in us. We were definitely upheld by prayers.
Here are some pictures from the week (click on the picture to enlarge):

Swimming
We swam everyday. This day we got to do it at night.

Crocheting
We try to get the campers to learn something useful. Here a group of them are learning how to crochet. Some of them enjoyed this so much that they were doing it while they were walking to their different activities.

Chapel
Jethro is leading the singing in the boys chapel. Lucy and I did two of the chapels.

Clowns
These assistants did a great job in creating laughter when they came out with their clown suits.

I have been wearing a Moses costume and welcoming the kids when they come. It has been kind of fun. Even the adults seem to like “Moses.”

Favorite Song: When The Saints

April 4th, 2009

Sara Groves has a wrote a song entitled “When the Saints” which has become a favorite of mine. In this song she speaks of Saints who have lived life recklessly for God and others and her desire to do the same.
Michael Card has called Groves a modern day abolitionist because of her fight against current slavery. This song seems to come out of this passion.
