Christmas Caroling
February 11th, 2009In the Corn Field
February 3rd, 2009It snowed about half of an inch over night. I thought that the roads would not be a problem. I was not more that a mile from my home when I was sliding down the middle of the road with a car coming at me. My speed was not that fast, but I was relieved when the car moved to the side, to give me room. I straightened my car and kept on driving.
I had driven in a lot worse snow this year and didn’t have any problems before. I reasoned that Spruce Road must have frozen because of less traffic and that the main road would be fine.
A few minutes later I was heading down New Holland Road. Vehicles were moving at a decent speed, when I began fish tailing on the road. Because of my inexperience, I had a hard time pulling my car out of the swerving. Vehicles were approaching on the next lane and I knew that I straighten it out quickly. About that time I swerved off the road right into a corn field. Bumping across the rows must have straightened my car because I just pulled right back on the road and kept on going. I never stopped.
I am just awed that nothing worse happened. I am humbled that God choose to protect myself and the car.
