Sunset

January 17th, 2009

One of the things that has amazed me about where I live is the sunsets we have. There are times when we have run out of the house with our cameras, trying to get a picture before the sun disappeared. I know a picture doesn’t compare to actually seeing things live, but here are a few pictures we took.
There is a graveyard on the property where we live. It has some graves of people who were born in the 1700’s.

I wonder if the resurrection will look anything like this?

Chasing $500 Down the Street

January 8th, 2009

Recently when I was out for coffee with a couple of my friends one of them mentioned about the missing dog posters which were taped to street poles in his neighborhood. The poster offered a $500 dollar award for whoever would find their terrier. It stated that the dog was wearing a blue Michigan bulldogs t-shirt.
I didn’t think more of it until I was dropping on of my friends off by his house. Before we left he had looked up a few houses and saw the dog (wearing the blue t-shirt) on the sidewalk. The dog started to climb through fences, so we ran around the block to try to corner it. We were cornering it in a fenced lot that he entered, but as we were getting close to having it caught when it found a hole and squeezed through the fence onto the sidewalk. It must have been scared because that little dog could run. We just stood and watch as we saw $500 disappear down the street and fade behind a building.
Our attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
