Forgiveness

July 13th, 2008

The evangelist tonight spoke on forgiveness. My thoughts went to a situation I learned about earlier in the day. A teenager was saving his allowance to purchase a bike. His mother realized that he had saved a considerable amount towards the bike and wanted him to give it to her because she didn’t have money to wash clothes.

I was very irritated. How could a mother, who has a job, ask such a thing from her son. The sermon on forgiveness was a message I and the teenager needed to hear.

Yet, I don’t believe that forgiveness lets someone off the hook. Nor do I think that it means that we just let things like this simply happen without any intervention. It does change the attitude in which one responds the agent.

Summer Bible School

July 13th, 2008

Summer Bible School is in full progress. We are at the mid point of the two week duration.

A few nights ago we had a large crowd of children. This wouldn’t have been bad except that we were under staffed in the beginning. Everything worked out fine. You leave an evening like this shot yet rewarded.
