Rewarding Weekend

October 24th, 2006

We had a busy weekend. On Friday a church from Petersburg, WV arrived here. They invited a church from Bedford, PA to come along with them. We had a great time witnessing, passing out Gospel literature, and singing for people. They left Saturday around 1PM. It was a blessing working with them. Here is a picture of the group.

Less than an hour after they left a youth group came in from Lancaster. They were from the Blue Ball and Open Door churches. They were here for the afternoon. We distributed Gospel material and sang in Center City. We also had children in the backyard in the evening. It was a good evening.

Here is picture of us singing in Center City.

The Law

October 14th, 2006

Thursday I went out with a few other men to distribute tracts. We went to a area which has a lot of small shops and stores. It is dark area of town.

I met a young man. He believed that Jesus was only a prophet.  I didn’t really argue with him, but got into his own heart to see if it was good. I started out by asking him if he was guilty of breaking God’s law by going through a couple of the Ten Commandments. I then asked if he would be guilty if he would be judged by God’s Word. His conscience agreed with me that I was right, because he told me that I had a point (It is hard for people to honestly say that they are guilty). The stage was set by the law and his guilt and I was able to give him the “Good News” of Jesus, and of how He died for him bearing his sin.

Before his heart was prepared by the law, I don’t believe he would have heard anything I would have had to say about Jesus’ grace. I was blessed to have this privilege to present the Messiah to him and actually have him take it in.

Pray that the Spirit would continue to make “The Way” plain in the hearts of those who are lost in the darkness of lies.
